5 Facts about tobacco e-liquids
When it comes to vaping and the use of e-cigarettes, public knowledge is generally quite mixed. There is a lot of false information when it comes to the retailing of tobacco e-liquids and it can be hard for e-cigarette retailers to combat this when there is such strict regulation surrounding how these products can be advertised and marketed in the modern world. So, if you’re here wanting to learn more about e-liquids, read on to find out more valuable information!
How much nicotine is in the average e-liquid?
The amount of nicotine in an e-liquid cartridge varies from retailer to retailer. Some flavours contain nicotine that is nearly equivalent to the amount found in a regular cigarette. Others have far less nicotine. Many, like ours, are even nicotine-free.
Are e-liquids becoming more and more common?
The simple answer is, yes. The use of e-cigarettes has grown a lot in recent years, particularly amongst younger generations. Did you know that e-cigarettes and the use of e-liquids are now the most commonly used tobacco products amongst youth in the United States?
Can it be used to quit smoking?
E-cigarettes and e-liquids should not be used as an alternative to cigarettes or a method of weening yourself off cigarettes. Kev’s Vape does not endorse the use of e-cigarettes as a method to get over smoking. At the end of the day, current studies have not been able to deduce whether it is an effective method of reducing nicotine addiction.
What are the main ingredients in an e-liquid?
Most e-liquids are made in a relatively simple process and generally only contain around 4 main ingredients. The mixture begins with the main base, known as vegetable glycerine (VG). The VG is then added with something known as propylene glycol (PG). If you’re just getting into vaping culture, you’ll hear the phrase “VG/PG ratio” and hear a bunch of different numbers. Don’t worry if that means nothing to you, there is plenty of time to learn.
The VG/PG base is then mixed with the flavourings. It could be anything from vanilla extract to watermelon extract. Finally, nicotine is added to liquid; however, at Kev’s Vape, we do not add nicotine to our e-liquids.
Do e-cigarettes smell just as bad as normal cigarettes?
Not at all. In fact, many people have switched to electronic cigs because of the scent, or lack thereof. Unlike cigarette smoke, which is a pungent odour that seeps into your clothes and furniture, vape odours are light and generally resemble the flavour.
